Volunteers

We are proud of our volunteers!
Volunteer Opportunities:
The South Zone Recreation Board is comprised of a team of volunteers who work tirelessly for the South Zone and surrounding community to offer programs in the areas of culture, sports, recreation,  and others.  We offer a variety of children’s programs, both indoors and outdoors, which keeps our youth focussed and provides a sense of belonging and team work.  Our seniors enjoy a variety of movement and brain exercise programs which keeps them young at heart.  We run programs that are not offered at any other Zone Board or Community Association so that our community residents have an opportunity try activities that otherwise would not be available to them.

We can’t run these programs without our spirited and committed team of program co-ordinators, directors, and volunteers who serve countless hours to ensure these programs are available.  Our SZ team is enthusiastic, hard working and dedicated – second to none!

The South Zone Recreation Board relies on volunteers for its success.  Volunteer for a few hours – a few days – for a season!  Consider volunteering in any of the following capacities:  SZRB Board of Directors, program co-ordinators, coaches, assistant coaches, instructors, referees, umpires.  Or contact any of our program co-ordinators to see if they could use your help.

Volunteer Recognition:
We are proud of our Volunteers!  The South Zone Recreation Board is thankful for the many volunteers who help to make our community a better place in which to live, work, and raise a family.  Volunteers are recognized at the annual Volunteer Tribute Dinner.  In the past volunteers were awarded with the Volunteer of the Year Award, which was discontinued in 2016.  Following are a list of recipients:
